Welcome to the Autumn 2018 Season of Conway Hall’s Sunday Concerts. We hope you will join us as we continue to host some of the best in classical music at our unique central London home.

This season features just over 20 events, from our main concerts to pre-concert talks and recitals, with not only home-grown artists but also ensembles from France, Italy and one all the way from New Zealand. Familiar faces making a welcome return include the Monte Piano Trio, and baritone and cellist Simon Wallfisch with the Fitzwilliam Quartet. I’m also looking forward to welcoming ensembles who will perform at Conway Hall for the first time including the award-winning Trio Chausson, the Oculi Ensemble (a new musical venture set up by members of the Badke Quartet who will, of course, be well known to many of you) and the Chamber Ensemble of London who close the season.

Timeless classics meet new premieres, from an all-Beethoven programme by the New Zealand String Quartet to new works by composers Robin Walker (I Musicanti) and Joseph Phibbs (Barbican Trio). This season is also an opportunity to catch the future stars of music as performers from the Royal College of Music showcase their talent, and a chance to hear patron Hiro Takenouchi perform Mozart’s piano sonatas in the first half of his Mozart ‘Sonata-thon’.

I would like to express my gratitude to you, our loyal audience, the wonderful musicians who provide the highest quality performances every week in the wonderful acoustic of Conway Hall, and to our team of volunteers who give up their valuable time in helping to make every concert a success. I would also like to thank the CAVATINA Chamber Music Trust for their invaluable support in subsidising tickets to our concerts for those aged 8-25.

You can keep up-to-date with our concerts by following us on Twitter and Facebook, and subscribe to our mailing list to receive latest news and events by email.

I do look forward to welcoming you to Conway Hall for another packed season of music.

With best wishes,

Simon Callaghan
Director of Music
